My company just helped move 2 workers to our Canada office whose visas were denied to be renewed in U.S. They had been in the U.S. for years but apparently government was like no, not anymore.

U.S. (California)

  • unlimited vacation time (my boss very much lets me use it too)
  • 40 “sick” hours a year
  • “ bereavement leave “ (death in family)
  • 12 holidays

I will admit I am lucky for being in the US. It most likely helps that I work for one of those evil Silicon Valley tech companies.

Being on both…. I can say I am on Bluesky way more, more engagement, more big names etc etc. Mastodon feels dead in comparison.

Why does she need more friends? Sounds like she has a solid thing with the small group. More people are not necessarily better. Took me until I was mid 30s to realize that. Quality over quantity.

I desperately wish they would make a new harmony remote or someone else would make a full featured universal remote. I know I am in the minority there I am sure.
