In an emergency he'd have to ask for the number for 911.

That would be a major character flaw of mine, when I fall for someone I will suppress myself because I know I have ADHD and when I get excited I can be a bit much. And let's face it, when I first fall for someone I'm a bit excited.

I get what you're saying but it is kind of a funny paradox, if you like being alone bring someone into that. But I know you're saying find someone who's ok with what I like, staying home a lot, and will understand when I randomly get up and go get on my computer because the ADHD brain just had an idea and needs to go down the rabbit hole "sorry Hun, I'll be back in 5 to 7 hours" lol.

Thanks for the advice, it's definitely something to think about and remember if I do find that special shut in hermit that completes me.

Well I have the dad belly.... so that's something! Also I do have an unhealthy love of dad jokes, and by unhealthy I mean one coworker has threatened me if I told another one....all in jest of course.

Thanks for the explanation, I finally had a little time to read up on the stag hunt aspect and what I read basically said what you said just in a more long winded way, lol.

41 here, I was there too. It's not that bad, just take care of yourself now. At your age I ate fast food, never exercised, and basically lived on caffeine, nicotine, and stress endorphins from working all the time. Now at my last check up, I'm overweight, my knees are shot, my back hurts all the time, and I have chronic acid reflux.

You are young enough that you can get a head start on aging, what you should do daily is exercise, eat healthy, and take some personal time/mental health time for yourself everyday to reduce stress. You don't want to end up like me and be facing a huge uphill battle to get healthy.

Not a problem, hope it helps. I've been there, I spent 12 1/2 years self-employed, my boss was such an ass I had to threaten to unionize to get any change. Yeah definitely look into neurofeedback if you get the chance, it can really help. Just a heads up, I've seen apps that claim to do the same thing, their crap, it's just a placebo that you get a subscription for.

We all have to find what works for us, and it looks like you've found your's. You can try experimenting with different times and different break methods, just make sure to pay attention to the outcome. Also being self-employed you won't have the benefit/burden of having a supervisor holding you accountable, so I would suggest logging your times, you may think something is working but once you write it out and see a pattern you can see if it really is or not..... I totally haven't fallen into this trap and am totally not speaking from experience....lol.

Always willing to help where I can, if you want to message me feel free. If I can help I will, I may be slow to respond though, life and all.

Yep. Also I'm old too, I remember when AIM was going to kill IRC.

Mostly it's everyday stuff, stuff I used to stress about now I'm like, eh it'll get done. Social acceptance is another one, I used to worry about people liking me and couldn't get past it if someone I thought I was on good terms with didn't like me. Now I worry about that much less, don't get me wrong I still want people to like me, but if they don't I can just accept it and move on.

As an example, there was a guy in my office who hated me, I was never anything but nice to him, but he just hated me. The problem was we regularly had to work together on things. In the past I would have been going out of my way to try and get him to like me and find out what it was that he had against me. Now, ok you don't like me, let's just keep the interactions professional and to the point, and I'll just leave you alone the rest of the time.

Basically you just learn to accept yourself and be happy with the good people and events in your life, and learn to just accept and move on from the others.

I'm familiar with the prisoners dilemma but not the stag hunt aspect, I'll have to take your word for it until I have time to read up on that.

The reddit A.I. doesn't know how to respond.

I run 4 subs on reddit, I got curious since I haven't seen any activity on my main sub. All 4 have been set to private. 3 of them are dead and I don't really care, but one is used to promote my blog so I flipped it back to public and saved the settings. When I went back and checked, it was private again.

I guess I'm being shadow banned, oh well no reason to post there again. I'll just have to set up a sub on Lemmy and move on with my life. Just curious, any other reddit mods seeing this?
