If you crack open the battery-driven memory carts, the battery itself is usually pretty easy to replace. Losing your game saves sucks though. I lost my Link save which was a kick to the nostalgia. That’s when you boot up the ROM save on your computer or Steam Deck like I do lol.

I have a friend that dresses as Karl Havoc every Halloween. He’s a drummer in a band and played dressed as him for a Halloween show.
My wife and I have a friend that’s an introvert like we are. Sometimes he’ll come over and we might play a bunch of Mario Party and Mario Kart, but other times we will all play separately on our handhelds or laptops and chill while something plays on YouTube. Sublime. Don’t need to constantly have a conversation going and there’s no drinking involved.
In true tech bro dumb dumb fashion, instead of recognizing failure and learning from it, he doubles down and blames the critics.
Yard work alone is my most productive time. Time to start a solo lawn company I guess.

My brother is from that era. I used to hangout with him and his friends when I was a kid and they were easily some of the nicest, smartest, most accepting people I knew. They’re a big reason for my radicalization into adulthood.
That whole friend circle has been decimated by AIDS. It’s really sad. He has a couple friends that made it through, but things will never be the same for him or the remaining friends.
Edit: thinking about this more, it makes me thankful to still have my brother around. On the non-selfish side, I’m sad he has to endure such loss and grief.
