Always wanted to get into classical music for this very reason but it's hard to find an entry point. My dopamine seeking brain doesn't help either

Me too! But so far it seems everyone here is a lurker lol

Depends on the context, like what world it is and where the room is located, and so on.

I suppose it's in a building that people have access to except for that one room, and that it's a world where, while not particularly sophisticated, explosives exist, so it should at least have very strong walls. If magic exists you might want to avoid using it for this purpose as it often becomes a "because" kind of explaination, but you can use it as a tool (e.g. an obstacle that can only be overcome with powerful magic, and the magicians who are capable of such power can be counted on one hand).

If magic is a no-go, maybe it simply requires a specific kind of key to open (but maybe it's too high tech for your world?)

I started playing short games only (ideally 20, max 40 hours), mainly indie games. They're tighter and usually go straight to the point. They often have one good idea and reiterate on it until they said all they had to say and don't overstay their welcome. Also, replaying old games is always nice. I've replayed OG Fallout recently and had a blast, currently replaying New Vegas (which goes against my short games rule, but I also know it well enough to not waste time doing things).

I'd like to add that it would be nice to warn about spoilers about very old games too. I don't think that should be a rule, but just nice.

The whole "dude that game came out 30 years ago" argument doesn't make sense because not everyone plays everything (and not everyone has your age).

Saw this video less than a month ago! Really well made, now I want to play OoT again for the first time since I played the 3DS port as a kid

I... don't know. As of now, I'm actively fighting the impulse to write anything on Reddit, but I stopped scrolling through it completely and I'm only opening it when I need some info (I have "site:reddit.com" pinned in my phone's clipboard for Google searches, that's how much I rely on reddit for finding answers).

I think my relationship with Reddit will be similar to the one I have with the pharmacy near my hours: they're assholes that treat their clients like garbage and try to screw them in every possible way and I avoid them as much as possible, but it's a 5 minutes walk from my house, opposed to 30 minutes for every pharmacy owned by nice people (5/10 if you're willing to drive and then look for parking for 20 more minutes), and I will go buy something from them from time to time because I'd rather not shit my pants on my way to the pharmacy if I ate something weird.

For everything else I hope Lemmy will be enough.

Did... Did this really happen?

[–] pieceofcrazy@feddit.it 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Though demodding someone can't be automated I think

[–] pieceofcrazy@feddit.it 0 points 2 years ago (2 children)

That's probably what will happen, but it's also likely this is the first of a long series of fuck-ups (well, not the first technically, bit the first of these proportions) that will slowly kill the site.

Either way, I don't care that much. I discovered the fediverse and as long as there's content here I'm happy with it. Of course reddit will still be a good source of information, just not a place to spend time in. I mean, if I need specific info on a subject reddit is still the place to look at, but I won't scroll it or post in it anymore.

A different internet is possible, but all we can do is use the alternatives we already have

I think this is also, like, illegal? At least I the EU

The comment I read made it seem as some kind of pitiful faction war but it's pretty understandable, maybe it could even have a positive impact on Lemmy as a whole
