Everything is relative. I live in Vietnam where tech people make a tiny fraction of what they could make in the US and quality of life would be significantly better despite the risk of dealing with ICE and other barriers.

Sure! I think a lot of people would be interested here.
I want to enjoy Mastodon so much, but I just never see that much discussion. It just feels empty.
Can someone explain how powerful a party can be in Germany with a plurality but without a majority?
With the World Cup a year away…
This. Tbh if Biden rolled out this program, I’d probably say it was distasteful, but fine as it’s voluntary. At least it allows individuals to make choices for themselves.
That said, ICE is already kidnapping individuals at their citizenship interview appointments. I hope no one tries it. It’ll probably end up a Trojan Horse.
Admirable but there are a couple things to consider. Take fashion for example. Yes, H&M and Zara are European owned but (I’m assuming) near zero of their production is done in Europe, and instead in poor/developing countries. In my opinion, it sort of defeats the point. As an American, I’d love to support European brands that keep their production local.
Rewatching 1983 from Poland and the timing is perfect.
Do you know how Graphene helps to protect privacy in case someone takes it to make a copy (ie TSA)? I’m an American living outside the US and I don’t have anything to hide (while at the same time respecting my own right to free speech and privacy) but it freaked me out when I learned morning that US immigration can make a copy of your personal phone if you don’t allow them to view your social media accounts. I’m interested in moving over from iOS to Graphene this year.
Seems like too little too late. There are other, more established privacy-oriented platforms in more privacy-respecting countries.
It was always Pelosi calling the shots (for better or worse). Schumer was always there as a fundraiser.
I’ve been here for a few years and I’m shocked Reddit is still around.
