I see your point. As I've been thinking about the need for kids to have resources somewhere, the school is a pretty good place for it. They need a safe place.

I don't need to control my kid. I don't do that now. I believe in setting the condition for honesty and growth, like making mistakes, without being crushed for it. Feels like that's working so far.

I would support the ability for them to get counseling on how to deal with parents and how to deal with a world that seems to shit on and oppress small groups of people. I just would want them to get me involved at some point. Maybe there are cases where that's not in the best interests of the young person. That's the argument for giving the school discretion. I see that.

My self harm comment was because of my concern for my kid's safety, that's why I would personally be mad. I wouldn't think that needed spelled out, but I'm guessing you're using its omission to support your judgement.

I disagree with your high horsing assertion. You're allowed that opinion of me, but working through things is easier when you aren't called names. It feels like most of your comments are high horsing from the other side. I'd rather you just ask questions.

Pretty good analogy. You're not wrong, I'm still mad about it. We'll be our undoing. Feels like Rome...

This is just my opinion, but I do not believe those people most of us associate with chrisofascism are Christian at all.

Again, just my opinion, none of these politicians or people screaming about their faith no anything about Christianity. Or are not at all followers of it.

That makes more sense to me. I would worry that it takes away a small group of people in an already limited avenues situation.

I don't know how to do both. Giving a young person counsel to tell their family would be of great help. Maybe that could be a compromise? If I did something to make my son feel scared (again, I'd be mortified of that because of would feel like a major failure), I would be ok if the school was providing the assistance to help, maybe with the worst thing being they have to mention it eventually?

Well, it was done by someone who doesn't live there.

Plus it was a former military member, as such, tend to be more supportive of military spending.

I hopefully didn't suggest that the video is perfect.

It was more than I had seen regarding western EU nations and their complimentary efforts/spending.

There will likely never be consensus on a nation's spending. Best we can hope for is not too ridiculous...😀

I didn't see any in the article, but I assume the council would have had them.

It's weird how I have such little trust in officials now.

DPW would have the people with experience and data to make these decisions. The council should weight these and make decisions for community good. I shouldn't need to be convinced with data to agree, but that's what I want now in some cases.

I'm so burnt out with officials asserting things without stats to back it.

Where did you get strong opinions?

Your football comment make me think you dont know most of the world loves ⚽

You probably mean 🏈?

Are ⚽🏈 people dumb?

Automation and driving

People are really apprehensive of that still. I agree, but we're going to need more people becoming accepting.

I'm not arguing with the job shortage. I just can't get my head around the migration.

There were always people filling lower paying job (I'm not advocating for less than deserving compensation). Now there isn't?

Maybe the same jobs exist, but new higher paying jobs have appeared that weren't around before (new technology, more corporate,.etc), so people just skilled up, moved up, and left the lower jobs vacant?

I think most developed countries where this happens just replace these less desirable jobs with immigration (not advocating for an idea of a lesser population)?

Maybe there's not as much immigration in some of these places?

So you're saying officials making something not political into something political?

I've definitely seen people do things against common sense because of their party.

I wasn't worried about him over throwing the constitution, that's for sure. Maybe having health issues...

Edit, not sure why someone feels the need to down vote your answer, it wasn't an inflammatory comment 🤷
