True Tone won’t work that is correct but to me that’s not a deal breaker. But in your model I’m quite sure that unless calibrated by Apple the display will have some vague shadow artifacts as well in the replaced display

Not sure where you are located but if in the US then Louis Rossman recently posted a vdo on YouTube showing someone has cracked that. So basically screen replacements and calibration are now possible (at least by his repair service) even if non apple.

Got a MacBook Air in 2011 due to the form and size factor. I had iPhones all along so entering the ecosystem more and more made it damn convenient.

Meanwhile I tried alternatives and have had an android phone for 2 years but ultimately went back to iPhones due to the software and convenience of use.

I’ve used MacBooks ever since 2011. Got my dad’s 2014 15” MacBook Pro that was great until this summer when it just began lagging due to heat issues. Even I had changed thermal paste and cleaned the fan grills etc. so finally I caved in and bought a 16GB M1 MacBook Air. And it’s totally great - not looking back!

I have that- or at least it looks like a premature ventricular contraction. I spent 24 with a holter monitor upon which the doctor said I have PVCs 3% of my heart beats. That doesn’t seem like a lot but if you average a 100,000 beats per day then even a few percent can be disturbing I think.

If they cause pain or significant discomfort my doctor said they would offer medicine but said it was not a big issue- apparently once you hit the 10% threshold you should take medication to manage it.

I still think they’re somewhat uncomfortable and I also don’t always have them- some days more than others. I wish I knew the reason for it so perhaps I could manage to reduce the occurrence. I didn’t learn any such methods from the doctors however so if you learn more please do share.
