Canadian here. We find you annoying. Daily, multiple times a day, we're just slammed in the face with your bullshit. "What Trump is doing is illegal" or "Democrat Sen. says what Trump has done today is illegal" and then.....fuck all is done about it. Meanwhile we wake up this morning to see former Prince Andrew has been arrested and we kind of just throw our hands up like "ok...now your turn"

Again, another example FROM TODAY, Trump has taken 10bil from the US and put it into his "Board of Peace" essentially controlling his own personal slush fund. Right on queue Democrat Senators and Reps are saying "that's illegal!" ok...you going to do something about it THIS time? I'm still waiting on Ro Khanna to "draft up" those charges against Pam Bondi that he said he was going to do last December.

It's all talk and very little, if any, action from your leaders and it's annoying. And ALL of them are complicit in this including your favourites be it Bernie Sanders or AOC or Crockett. They all make sure they get a good sound bite or twitter post in and then....nothing, no follow through. another couple reps list off names from the files and then...nadda. One just straight up came out and said "Trump raped kids" soooooo where's that impeachment? arrest? no? nothing?

And the infuriating thing is your Republicans NOW know they can get away with it. Again look at how Bondi behaved. many Americans on here and on reddit were saying "she's acting that way cause she's scared" no she wasn't. she's was acting that way cause she knew she could get away with it.

And to TOP it all off you still have your fellow americans posting daily things like "I think we're the baddies now" or "we're starting to become fascist" or "I don't like America either". You just don't get it. You still have yet to accept the fact that you currently ARE a fascist country. you ARE the Nazi's. you ARE the enemy. Even this post "Hey guys look how much Canada doesn't like us NOW" now? NOW!? newsflash, we haven't liked you for a good long while. We've TOLERATED you. We've rolled our eyes at you for decades. Even the insulting posts people made of "We're sorry Canada". no, stop. It's like NONE of you get it until WELL after the fact and in many cases a lot of you STILL don't get it.

But as a Canadian who has had the unfortunate "pleasure" of living above you I know you're not going to. I know you might fix the current problem but a few years down the line we'll be right back at it again. I've lived through your Reagan and Bush years (multiple) you keep ramping up the worst you can be and I'm more scared of the person you elect AFTER Trump.

This winter has just been bleh. Even today we're at like 5 degrees in Toronto. I was just outside sunny, beautiful. I literally took my jacket off and looked out the window...complete white out fog from the rapidly melting snow. and tomorrow we're getting ice pellets, snow, and freezing rain. with the cold we've also had i'm just over it.

I didn't say it was constant. I only said every now and again on the free trial I'd get an ad. Maybe it's because I only used it with Qutebrowser. I don't know. but I know that sometimes I would get an ad on a video.

there's no point. I tried the free trial of youtube premium cause i'm on Qutebrowser and the adblocking isn't the greatest. even with Premium i'd still randomly get ads every now and then. IF i were paying for it I'd be pissed.

Now I circumvent this by just opening all the videos in MPV.

where? I've lived in Dryden Ontario, Toronto, Kitchener, etc and I've NEVER met or known a single person that said they loved curling and watched it.

in my 40+ years being Canadian i've YET to meet another fellow canuck that enjoys or watches curling. never. and yet they'll show the absolute shit out of it on TV here. I don't get it. We even have god damn curling clubs everywhere and I STILL have yet to meet anyone that loves it and plays it.

It's just so bizarre. finding a hockey fan or simply someone who has played hockey? sure no prob, we all played as kids. But curling? never. I don't get it. I think it's some Canadian conspiracy or something. Like for decades the Canadian government has been trying to push curling on us to make it popular or something and no one plays it. no one watches it. but you see it all the god damn time.

As someone who has to deal with LLMs/AI daily in my work in order to fix the messes they create, this tracks.

AI's sole purpose is to provide you a positive solution. That's it. Now that positive solution doesn't even need to be accurate or even exist. It's built to provide a positive "right" solution without taking the steps to get to that "right" solution thus the majority of the time that solution is going to be a hallucination.

you see it all the time. you can ask it something tech related and in order to get to that positive right solution it'll hallucinate libraries that don't exist, or programs that don't even do what it claims they do. Because logically to the LLM this is the positive right solution WITHOUT utilizing any steps to confirm that this solution even exists.

So in the case of OPs post I can see it happening. They told the LLM they wanted analytics for 3 months and rather than take the steps to get to an accurate solution it ignored said steps and decided to provide positive solution.

Don't use AI/LLMs for your day to day problem solving. you're wasting your time. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc have all programmed these things to provide you with "positive" solutions so you'll keep using them. they just hope you're not savvy enough to call out their LLM's when they're clearly and frequently wrong.

KDE is good but please, for the love of god KDE devs, you need to realize that some people...a lot of people actually....use more than one monitor.

Whenever I use Plasma I feel like I spend more time getting my windows arranged correctly across both my monitors with different workspaces. if each monitor had it's own set of virtual desktops then it would be the perfect DE.

with the amount of times Claude hallucinates solutions I wouldn't trust it to write my grocery shopping list let alone national defense.

As someone who lives in Toronto they're a god damn corrupt force that does jack all. it's a damn weekly thing where you'll read in the news ANOTHER Toronto cop on paid suspension for something. AND then it's a yearly thing when the city budget comes up and surprise, surprise TPS asks for more money. And the beauty of it all is that city council isn't even allowed to debate the amount. they can either say yes or no.

TPS is pretty much the mob.
