I think linux does fstrim oob.

edit: I meant to say linux distros are set up to do that automatically.

some dynamic stuff is helpful, like upload progress - before that, you'd just wait not knowing how much is left, network disconnects and reverse proxy timeouts would be very disruptive.

you think linux kernel problems are solved on stack overflow? app coding vs lib coding is a huge gap in what the code looks like, I don't even want to think of kernel code.
