Definitely felt the same. A lot of the same arguments you’d see on the front page of reddit when veganism gets mentioned.
It would still be wrong to buy a product made with Palestinian slave labor even if there weren’t. No one’s really organizing boycotts of Hobby Lobby anymore but I still wouldn’t shop there.
No, I’m comparing purchasing decisions derived from ethical concerns. Just because the suffering of Palestinians experiencing genocide is far worse doesn’t mean that the exploitation of animals is okay, two things can both be bad even though one is worse.
I don’t think it makes someone an asshole to live according to their moral principles. Like, I wouldn’t help her buy a sodastream either. And it’s perfectly possible to explain to people why you aren’t comfortable doing so and offering to help in other ways. No one needs milk to live.
No, because cows still suffer and die for that milk. That said, if it’s her money you’re using and she would buy it anyway it really isn’t the biggest thing I don’t think.
No that makes sense. Be the person you’d want to be after things change is interesting, hadn’t thought about that. It’s easy to get lost in the daily struggle and lose sight I think.
it really isn’t difficult for me at all, and it does a little bit to stop me from participating in at least some suffering. Sort of like BDS, my participation probably doesn’t mean all that much in the grand scheme, but it does a little bit and helps me feel better about my place in the world.
Knowing the DNC, they’d want a candidate to the right of Biden. It’s

It’s a lot like movies from the Dprk if you’ve seen those. It beats you over the head with the message but I really liked it, especially as a picture of what they were trying to do in China then, and how different it was.
