Yep, fair enough, sorry for not being clear. We do disagree somewhat on that point, but otherwise aye

I don't really get this response. I literally said

I don't think federating with them and at least trying was the wrong move

and then you say

You're arguing against a point that I didn't make ... my point was that it was a waste of time to try

Maybe we've just a crossed wire in communication here, but I very much think it was worth trying to get on with the admins, that it paid off in our favour and would have either way.

Ah, thank god the document was written to protect us from the transport of alcohol, but not to say, ensure we actually get to be alive.

downbear Defederating with blahaj was the right move, but I don't think federating with them and at least trying was the wrong move either. Our short federated time meant we got a lot of users make accounts here, and I think a lot of users who stayed are now hyper-aware of their troubling internal politics (one of the top comments in the 'Hexbear defederated' thread is 'I'm concerned about 196'). If we never make efforts to outreach and talk with troubling libs, then we are doing absolutely nothing but preaching to ourselves.

Finding libs on which to directly dunk is the closest posting comes to praxis.

We certainly pretty much all hold that opinion. We do often talk about a lot of stuff in exaggerated terms simply because that's the culture. It's not deliberately America-focused, but like most English-speaking places on the internet it is full of Americans.

No worries on the questions though friend, ask freely.

Maybe not sarcasm, but just making the explicit point that these things suck and should not exist. The people doing them are either complicit in, or directly perpetrating the harm of others and they should be treated like violent criminals.

I've seen an admin respond to the shitty DM leaking behaviour, but the admins don't seem interested in confronting the problem mainly.

I suspect I've undiagnosed manic-depressive disorder, but either way I get heavy existential dread for 1-4 weeks straight, then reoccurring again in 1-3 months. I also get similar pressure from my industry. So I do feel you :(

You occasionally see studies that include mention cost of manufacture - For instance Cuba technically has lower car emissions mainly because the embargo has forced them to constantly repair cars rather than get new ones. Not aware of any mention of the other facts like maintenance and city planning though, would be cool to see more data about it if it exists.

As someone who frequently has windows with 1000+ tabs, this feature has saved my bacon countless times.
