Yep, and then further down the article:

American evangelical groups have played a role in pushing hateful policies

In reality, the US in particular has influenced or supported anti-LGBTQ policies and attitudes in Uganda, particularly via evangelical groups like the Fellowship Foundation, which had a hand in crafting the 2009 “kill the gays” bill, according to a 2020 report from Open Democracy.

Us Brits started it off, then the American Bible bashers keep it going. Tale as old as time.

This is so sad. I don't want to come off as "le enlightened atheist" but this is the harm that extremist religions cause.

I'm absolutely loving the new Murlocs album. And James Acaster's project TEMPS is fantastic.

Anyone heard anything good recently?

"Why do the consequences of my actions result in consequences?"

What an absolute toad of a man.

You know when a band you love that broke up 30 years ago reform and release an album, and it's always a bit bland and just doesn't hit in the same way?

Well...

I mean... just Google it?

Yeah there's nothing wrong with being horny, but shoving it in strangers faces is just gross.

Reverse API changes, fire Spez, and sticky an apology to the frontpage.

But even if they did that, I'm not going back 😂

I've been tired of reddit for a while, too many bots, too many bad mods, too many psychos and trolls. Basically, it's just too crowded. It's nothing like it was when I joined in 2010. The spirit of the site died a long time ago and you can't get it back.

Yeah for sure. I was on reddit for 13 years, there were users I recognised by name, people I was friendly with, people I'd have intense debates with, many, many, many subreddits I loved.

But nothing lasts forever, and this place seems nice so here's to new beginnings 🍻
