That is very evocative of what the sound was like! Unfortunately it was close to a decade ago that I heard it but the sound has haunted me since

I've heard this before, along with other noises from crows over the years but never have been fortunate enough to be able to capture it! He also took on a very

It's hard to hear clearly; I was just chilling on my deck and grabbed my phone to record as soon as I could

I've spent a lot of time looking over videos and sites trying to discover other recorded noises that crows make besides the caw and the rapid click but haven't heard anything similar. Another noise I've heard was a very soft, sweet warbling chatter. It was incredibly charming

But hey, I was incredibly hyped to catch this. Have you heard anything similar?

Well the game is yu gi oh but I don't know what the meme is referring to, other than it's just how the turn ends?

If you already knew that and wanted a specific card then I apologize. Enjoy your day!

Ok, I have to say I am in love with this app. I've learned a few more species I have around here. It's addictive. I've had a little extra time in the mornings to enjoy nature (injury flare up, so I've had to stay home) and it's been so rewarding sitting outside and listening. I have to stay inside or I scare the birds from my balcony but omg the variety I have around me. I would have never known!

I've heard the birds around me but hardly see the them; I've been so overjoyed these last few days since you recommended that app. Referring back the injury, I can't really indulge in my normal activities like gaming or gardening, but at least I have always enjoyed nature so this has been such a positive outlet for me and the overlap of my interests and abilities

That, along with bedsheets needing to be changed. But I know if I'm too depressed to shower no way in hell am I going to be able to wash laundry, but at least putting clean (or less dirty) linens on can help

Absolutely! That was one of the first things I noticed about the eggs. Such a beautiful color, too

Lol yeah there are some interesting names for sure. Like someone was begrudgingly tasked with naming all the birds and by the time they got down to the end they were just over it

Thanks for the app recommendation, just installed it! I've got a few new birds showing up as birds are migrating back and I would love to learn their IDs. This guy was fairly easy. And chickadees are nearly unmistakable; they say their own name!

Also on YouTube Cornell has live nest cams, so fun to watch

Thanks! It's really rewarding watching cities utilize what I've made as my own little slice of nature on my patio. Today I'm going shopping again for pollinator friendly plants, I need something for the hummingbirds that isn't just a feeder

Unfortunately we have a lot of crows and cats residents let run free. Not too many cats come over to our apartments, upstairs at least

I'm now kinda worried but nature is cruel and there is nothing I'll be able to do

I'll still stay optimistic!

I noticed the mother bird about a week ago when there would be a bird who flew off every time I left my front door

I try hard to minimize the disturbance to her/them. I only have one door so I try to consolidate my trips out but when I do I try to get a picture of the nest

This was taken yesterday, 5.10.25 at 9.45am

This was 5.9.25 at 1.45pm

It's very exciting to me because I've never been in such close proximity to a nest before. I was sure I heard baby bird peeps earlier today and it turns out I was right!!

I've had a bird bath on my balcony consistently over the winter and have started setting out seeds for the resident birds. Every day I get a new visitor or something to marvel at! But I believe having the consistent water source was key to the gal nesting where she did

It made me giggle so hard watching the small flock of chickens in my parents' yard jumping to get the blueberries off the bushes.

I originally got this guy in Oct of last year from a plant shop and was in pretty miserable shape:

I left it in my south facing window and it lost those leaves and then shot up a whole bunch of new ones all at once (the ones in the before/after)

I was concerned that they were growing too straight as a result of it not getting enough light. I put the plant in another window that gets direct sun earlier in the day and then I started to see the very tips start to curl

My mom had given me a plant light a couple years ago that I never used so it was the perfect opportunity to set it up in a corner of my kitchen currently unused. Over the course of just a couple days I saw some real differences! These should all be taken about 12 hours apart:
11.45am 15th
1am 16th
9am 16th

Those were all taken about 5 days ago, then here's this morning, same as the top photo:
today 21st
without the blurple

Anyways, the photos aren't great because I didn't expect to see progress, especially none so quickly. So they're not staged well and I think I messed up the formatting because my app was giving me issues uploading more than the first two pics. Also my water just got shut off for emergency maintenance and I was already in the middle of an anxiety episode but I'm absolutely over the moon when I woke up to see those tight curls!

Those leaves grew so tall so quickly I was afraid the lack of bright light would have caused them to just be stretched and the info I found on the internet led me to believe that they were forever doomed to be frizzle fizzle until next growing season

Anyways, that's my plant and one of the joys in my life right now!
