All I want to do is download a program and click on it to install. How fucking hard is that. I am not a programmer and have zero desire to be one.

For most modern Linux distributions that's exactly how it works. You have an app store, you look for the program, click install, then click launch.

While both Mint and Zorin are good "beginner" distros, they might not be the best choice for gaming. Since your primary use seems to be gaming and you're on an nvidia GPU, you may also want to have a look at distros, that make it easier to set them up for that. So apart from Pop_OS you could also look at Nobara Linux or Bazzite. Not to confuse you with even more options, but it's good to know what's out there and try some stuff out to see what works.

Well when you install CalyxOS you can relock the bootloader afterwards, it comes with microg, which vanilla Lineage dodn't support at all last time I checked, and it comes with a firewall app as well. So, different focus than Lineage I'd say.

I think the map part is separate, the regular results didn't take my IP into account from what I can tell. But I can't guarantee that of course. Otherwise you could also check out mojeek. From their about page:

We act on our own agenda and not that of others, this is why we focus our time on one thing and one thing only - "No tracking. Just Search." When you conduct a search on Mojeek, your results are based entirely on the keywords you typed in. Mojeek does not possess any previous identifying information on you, such as IP addresses, search history or click behaviour.

This one. I haven't tested it systematically but it works well enough for me. If I search just for 'restaurants', the map will use my location, but the regular search results are tripadvisor and opentable results for Chicago, Bronx, and Milwaukee, none of which are remotely close to me. 367a7cda-a957-404b-ad9e-21e3d2c9b804

Edit: Just realised the marking wasn't saved, but the toggle is right above the map.

Or install Librewolf and get all that out of the box

Judging from the AI-generated picture above I assume it is because IT is an undead nightmare hellscape where you are shackled to ancient technology that sucks your life-blood out of you until you inevitably fuse into it and become part of the unending doom machine that is late-stage capitalism

That's because at some point in your life you realise that birds are just tiny dinosaurs.

Duckduckgo has a toggle to disable location-based results though? You can also choose a different location if you want to.

Idk, I'd assume if I just delete the credit card and they can't charge it, they'll just keep sending me bills with increasingly insane late fees, effectively putting me in huge debt over time

Not the regular Fedora KDE Spin, just the Asahi Remix intended for Macbooks

Maybe they played Rock, Wood, Water
