I think we should name a bunch of american cities after european ones and just put a "new" in front of them.

Im pretty sure hitting the power button locks and turns off the screen on mine(and eventually the tablet goes to sleep). I actually dropped my tablet yesterday :( so I cant say for sure until i replace the screen, but I believe you can change that behaviour in the power settings?

Yes plasma mobile seems more phone focused, but the actual apps scale up just fine for a tablet. If I had to compare the interface Id say its arround android 5 or 6 in terms of features and usability. No splitscreen or picture in picture but you get windows if you switch into docked mode via the control center. The best thing for me is the performance. I use it on an old surface go (the first one) and its honestly very usable, gnome in comparison is just a tiny bit too heavy to have a fluid experience. the second best feature is the waydroid integration.

you should try plasma mobile. despite gnome being amazing on touchscreen devices, as you mentioned, the osk sucks. you can improve the interface with an extension called "touchup" iirc, but the keyboard will remain unchanged. plasma mobile comes with gestures and a usable osk right out of the box. there is a plasma mobile spin for fedora and i believe postmarket os also has it as a package.

Yes, the bloodline and cute baby thing is probably a cope on my end. There are tons of reasons why someone might or might not want kids. I dont know why my parents had children because I never asked.

I understand that you need to vent and I dont know if you are talking about my parents or yours or just the thread in general, but just in case please dont call my parents that. they are very flawed people yes and they didnt do what they should have, but I havent written everything in my first post and for all you know I could be lying (conciously or subconciously). They tried (maybe their best) but it wasnt enough. Sometimes it just doesnt work out. It just sucks that you, I and the other people in this thread in similar situations have to deal with the fallout.

My husband, who’s 138, recently got into summoning through a guildmember, and ever since then things have felt… off. I genuinely can’t tell if this is normal for new summoners or if I should be concerned.

It started with him buying a book that cost more than our entire study. Then came the robes. Super wide, with aggressively bright patterns, and leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination when he bends down to pick something up. He insists this is just what Summoners wear, but it feels very intentional, like he wants to be seen.

Then he grew out his beard. I only noticed because the razor in the shower (which is mine) was completely untouched and there was an alarming lack of hair. When I asked, he got weirdly defensive and just said, “Everyone does it.”

The language is what’s really throwing me. The other night I overheard him on the orb after a “session” saying, “I wanted to stay relaxed and just let him possess my body until I gained forbidden knowledge,” followed by, “I can’t wait to summon again tomorrow, scrollbro” in this weird low voice, then a quiet little laugh. The night before that, while he was researching spells in the study, I heard him and the same wizard discussing the size of their “wand” and whether he should “grease it up with wood oil before he uses it.” I truly did not know what to do with that information.

He’s also coming home late from summonings and talking funny, constantly complaining that his throat hurts so much he can barely speak. When I asked why he keeps doing it if it hurts that badly, he smiled and said, “You wouldn’t get it.”

At one point I asked what his ancient amulet was about, and he said completely seriously, “Bryzian wants my mind more open so we can really summon together on soulbindings.” As his wife, I did not know how to respond.

I’m not trying to be paranoid. I’d be hurt but accepting if this turned out to be something more than summoning. I just feel totally out of the loop and honestly confused. If this is just how summoners talk and act, I’ll drop it. I just need to know. Any insight from this community would be greatly appreciated ❤️

I installed arch (https://github.com/warpme/miniarch) on one of those small android tv boxes (A53 Cpu and 4gbs ram) that usually come with android+spyware and vague promises of piracy and i want to turn it into a small homeserver. I dont really know anything about servers so I dont know where to go from here. Im planning on connecting a 1TB drive to the box. I want some folders from my PC and phone(specifically documents) to be synced to the server automaticly whenever both are connected to my network, but I also have a ton of audio books, ebooks movies that I obviously only want to be accessible (by my TV, ereader, phone) but not synced accross devices. Ive also been thinking about having shared compute running in the background (seti or folding@home or something else). Obviously everything should need as little maintenance as possible, i want to have it sit in a corner and be able to forget about it. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

I am looking for books similar to "At the Mountains of Madness" by H.P. Lovecraft(ive pretty much read everything from lovecraft), "Eversion" by Alastair Reynolds, "Das Eulentor" by Alexander Gruber (dont know if this book ever released in another language), "The Hollow Places" by T. Kingfisher, I also tried reading "Ascension" by Nicholas Binge but it wasnt really to my taste. Hope you have some ideas. thx in advance
