And automotive in China is one of the largest industries, with a lot of manpower involved. The economy is already struggling, they'd have a hard time dealing with mass unemployment on top.
Their profit is dropping because the Chinese government forbade them to sell unused cars from past overproductions as "used" with 1km down at a 30% discount, so now they have to expand to other countries aggressively which is rather costly.

You can get Android phones with reasonable specs around $200. No need for the so called "flagships".
I'm wearing my smartwatch as a wristwatch. All notifications are off, but I see the temperature, UV index, step and calorie counters, which is nice. And if I ever want to review my sleep data, pulse, sPO2 saturation and location history, I got it available just in case. And for the very rare case that my phone is charging and I want to access messages from another room, I can do that manually.

He was probably exaggerating, while Hong Kong central is pretty built up, there are a lot of areas without any buildings, and even national parks large enough to get lost in (for a few hours at least).
