Anti-GMO, if coming from a place of reason, is a stance against pesticides in your food. One of the primary reasons to genetically modify some plant is so Roundup herbicides can be used on it.

Yeah, pretty neat!

Even better: No billionaires. But we've got to start small in order to get anywhere. I think the idea is that if we can make an example of Musk, other billionaires will think twice before fucking over the general population.

Not entirely true. You lose tickets and PRs in that scenario.

I don't know the answer to that, but I think part of the effort here is aimed at figuring that out.

I do know there's shit like this going on: https://www.fox13seattle.com/news/king-county-metro-purchase-teslas

Petition link: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/tell-king-county-city-of-seattle-no-public-money-for-musk?source=direct_link

I'm generally not a big fan of online petitions, because they often feel about as useful as screaming into the void. But I think this one might be a little different. The idea is that the organizations behind the petition are going to start making the case directly to Seattle city council members to stop giving city funds to Musk's businesses. And if they can go into those discussions armed with thousands of petition signatures, that's going to make their case that much stronger.

So if you're sick of Musk and his bullshit, please consider giving the petition a look. And if you're wanting to get more involved with this effort than just signing a petition, feel free to DM me and I'll get you plugged into the group.

EDIT: Some additional background on the general Divest Musk effort: https://www.teslatakedown.com/divest

You don't think they'll just say "tread on me harder, daddy".. unironically?

Mouth-breathing thugs aren't exactly scientific geniuses though.

You'll know it's true topsy-turvy world when the red state MAGA types start driving EVs and using encrypted messaging apps.

Excuse me... It was a hand motion that appeared to some observers to be consistent with a historical German sign of greeting and/or eugenics.

Tesla profits are down 71% year-over-year, and the only reason they didn't actually lose money is due to some carbon credit shenanigans.
