Strong assumption it'd be self-diagnosed... the heck?

Sec+ was kinda doable for me (passed with 84% a month ago) but only because its a topic that actually interests me. Networking, especially subnetting, however has been an achilles heel of mine for 20+ years though...

I wouldn't know how/where to evem start if it wasn't for some pretty amazing youtube tutors (looking at you, Professor Messer^^). Reading is a nightmare but watching videos and doing practice questions/exams kinda works for me... I basically:

  • watch the whoöe topic once
  • do all the comptia practice questions
  • identify the areas where I drop under 80% success
  • watch those (and more) videos again
  • rinse & repeat until the last week
  • switch to practice exams for the last week
  • hope for the best

I'll only know by the end of next week if this works out, though...

I'm currently studying for a network certification: 540 pages where I alread know like 70% of the content but am missing some specific (and important) details. Having to go through all of this without loosing focus and thus missing those details is... challenging, to say the least.

Well.. kinda the same as when Microsoft was forced to give its users the "choice" for a different browser. Took ages to implement and still, Microsoft tried to get around it. Just look how easy it is to purge Edge from Win11 or to even replace it with something else for links embedded in the o/s itself.

It's not about enforcing an inferior product - it's about enforcing the freedom of choice. The way google was forcing its services down everybodies throat led to a market where people didn't even know that something besides gMaps exists. Now competitors at least have some sort of chance.

You dont want/need root for graphene in the first place. that would just open another attack vector and is strongly discouraged.

Problem being that there is no real incentive to do so, unless PeerTube finds a way to pay content creators. Until then, switching away from YouTube means loosig their revenue stream...requiring them to take up jobs to pay the bills and eventually have less time for content creation.

Living on donations and patreon alone is hard...

+1 vor HeliBoard. I was in the same position and switched about half a year ago. The only thing I missing so far is a dedicated voice input button.
