Or <40% of us anyway. The rest don't care.

I don't think you can separate people so cleanly.

And I'm literally only talking about beef. Chicken may be atrocious from a cruelty perspective but it has a negligible environmental impact compared to beef. People who are emotionally invested in eating beef don't see that they have the exact same mentality as anti-maskers did during the pandemic: doing this helps the entire human race and prevents the suffering of millions of people, but I refuse to even consider any change in my behavior because it makes me temporarily uncomfortable.

How can someone demand action from others against something like rising fascism when they won't even change their lunch habits?

What happens when demand decreases?

Any reduction in beef consumption is a win for the environment. I hope beef becomes completely unaffordable.

Edit: Instead of down voting, maybe do a cursory investigation into some of the top causes of climate change. It ain't bean sprouts causing it.

They should offer to rename themselves the Washington Epstein Files

Poverty, lack of opportunity, lack of education, lack of intellectual curiosity, lack of introspection, lack of a sense of adventure, corrupt leaders they reelect on ideological grounds instead of outcomes, but with progressive enclaves like any state

Source: spent a lot of time in and around Oklahoma

I do think you can't get a complete picture of America without understanding places like Oklahoma, but America is a big place and contains a lot of different cultures.

Under the Skin. I love the movie. It is so evocative, and some of the imagery is incredibly disturbing without depicting traditional screen violence. The book isn't bad, but it's much more straightforward and simple by comparison. I think Jonathan Glazer really elevated the material, as he does with every movie he makes.

Foxx didn't get Sanders' endorsement, but her progressive opponent did, and she won. The lesson here, at least for the three candidates that won, is that his endorsement carries weight.

She's older now, but for context, here's what she looked like at the time she was dating Epstein. Trump assaulted her in Trump Tower in the '90s in plain view of everyone.

Huh, I guess Trump isn't a child rapist and Epstein's wealthy collaborators don't really matter anymore. Well, glad that's done! All's well that ends well.
