So I'm not one of those people who has a Steam Deck to play games at work or commuting, I mostly bought a Steam Deck so I could play games next to my wife on the couch and for the quick resume button. I still get 2-3 hours per night on my desktop PC if I want it.

This means that deciding between what games to play on my SD vs my PC is pretty complicated. So far I divide them by genres and have been playing all Roguelites on SD while everything on PC.

With the recent release of FFT Remaster I have no idea what system to play it on!

Do you guys divide your Steam Deck and PC games by genre? Anyone else like being structured or so you prefer being organic?

Thanks!

PSA: DO NOT INSTALL xx.04 releases!!!

  • The .04 stands for "April", commonly known for "April Fools".
  • Many projects use the term "LTS", meaning "Lies, Tricks, and Slander". So called 'Enterprise' users often promote these releases to "own the noobs". Be warned!

I don't know how relevant this is now, but here's a link to another post where I expressed my thoughts on what kind of pitfalls you might most likely face -- https://lemmy.world/post/36867409

By the way, what is this phenomenon on Lemmy? Let's say people are reluctant to read and comment on old posts published just a couple of days or a week ago, but with new ones, it's a completely different story. What kind of psychology is this? Or it seemed to me?

Canada’s largest private sector union is calling on Ottawa to keep its 100 per cent surtax on electric vehicles imported from China, warning that removing it would threaten auto jobs across the country.

Unifor submitted its position to the federal government’s Section 53 review of the tariff, saying Chinese automakers enjoy unfair advantages through state subsidies, weak labour standards and carbon-intensive production.

“Lifting tariffs on China will make a bad situation far worse, if Canada becomes a dumping ground for cheap, unfairly subsidized imports,” said Unifor national president Lana Payne. “It would be nothing short of a self-inflicted wound at a time when one-third of our members at Detroit Three facilities in Canada are on layoff, with three automobile assembly plants sitting idle.”

The union said lifting the surtax now would risk undoing recent investments in vehicle assembly, battery production and critical minerals. It is asking Ottawa to extend the surtax for at least 24 months, broaden it to include EV and battery components, and reinstate federal EV rebates restricted to Canadian and North American-built vehicles. The union also wants stronger enforcement against goods made with forced labour.

Unifor said Canada should align its approach with the United States and Mexico. The U.S. has combined tariffs of 127.5 per cent on Chinese EVs and plans to restrict connected car technology by 2027, while Mexico raised its EV import tariffs to 50 per cent this year after Chinese vehicles surged to 70 per cent of its market.

Jakarta (AFP) – A leopard was captured on Monday after it wandered into a hotel complex in one of Indonesia's most popular holiday destinations, sparking panic among guests.

The big cat was spotted on Monday morning outside a guest room on the second floor of a hotel in Bandung, the capital of West Java, Indonesia's most populous province.

The hotel management alerted firefighters, who then contacted the local conservation agency about the sighting.

"We used a tranquiliser, and at around 10 am (0300 GMT) the leopard was taken out of the hotel," Agus Arianto, head of West Java's conservation agency, told AFP.

In late August, a leopard was reported to have escaped from a zoo located just five kilometres (three miles) from the hotel.

Agus said it would take time to determine whether the animal captured on Monday was the same one.

"Currently, the leopard is slowly regaining consciousness. It has started to growl," Agus said, adding that the animal would be taken to a conservation facility for observation.

Indonesia has seen other incidents involving escaped zoo animals in recent years.

In 2021, two Bengal tigers escaped from a zoo in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, after days of torrential rain created a hole near their enclosure.

A 47-year-old male zookeeper and several animals were found dead near the tiger cage.

One of the tigers was shot dead, while the other was captured alive.

Indonesia's zoos have long faced scrutiny, with some accused of animal cruelty and lax safety standards.
