I barely felt it, but I saw some stuff shaking in the room

Here are articles about the project:

I could swear I was just looking at the sign a few days ago with an unimpeded view.

Idea stolen from /r/Vancouver.

For me: Dosanko's Omurice and their Strawberry Shrub soda

But I would also really miss Danbo's vegan ramen.

A bunch of fire trucks went by, and looking around I think I see smoke around Dunbar

Edit:

Construction site at 41st and Collingwood. Reuploading a video I found, I'll link when it loads

The motion was shared here earlier:

https://lemmy.ca/post/25243197

There were 35 speakers in support, 1 speaker in opposition. The amendment and motion were supported unanimously by councillors. There were hundreds of comments received, largely in support.

The 49th Avenue, 41st Avenue, 4th Avenue, Granville Street, and Hastings Street corridors were talked about most. The amendment added Granville Street to the list of corridors of focus, and inclusion of TransLink's report for city staff reference. Another important point was the request for automated buslane enforcement.

I am planning a kayak trip up to Granite Falls later this summer, and I would love to do a practice run to Twin Islands first since it is so much closer. I have my Paddle Canada Level 1 and have done some guided kayak trips, but this summer will be my first time going solo overnight.

Is camping on Twin Islands on the weekend a feasible option in the summer? Ideally I would head out either after work on Friday or from Saturday to Sunday, but I'm worried that all the campsites will be full. I would be renting a kayak from Deep Cove, so it would suck to pay for an overnight rental only to find all the spots are taken and having to turn back. I don't have any extra vacation days, so a mid-week trip is a no-go.

If anyone has any recent experience or tips, it would be greatly appreciated. For example, is there a lot of turnover on Saturday, or do most people spend the whole weekend? I'm wondering if it would be best to show up early-ish on a Saturday to snag a spot as someone leaves, or if that is a lost cause.

Thanks!

Over 6 firetrucks on site responding to what looks like a large scale fire. Smoke drifting out the vents on the roof.

There are a few vendors set up, but not like other times I've been here.

It looks like there is a market inside the grounds, but I'm not interested in paying over $100 to shop for local crafts...

If you too think we need to increase our transit efficiency, support this upcoming motion by Cllr Boyle before July 23rd!
