Canadians at large are speaking out against the US with their voices, votes, feet and wallets.

Gonna ask for the adult purchase (大人買い) - one of each because I'd rather spend more than to keep trying the lootbox.

TL:DW;Trump's 4 step playbook:

  1. Make a maximalist demand
  2. Let it simmer for a while
  3. Pull back
  4. Claim a big win regardless of outcome

Positives:

  • It does force leaders to come to the table with the US.
  • A handful of concessions can be extracted.
  • Method of 'negotiation' is popular with base due to step 4.

Negatives:

  • The concessions or wins are minor compared to short term damage done
  • The longer-term position after concessions may be unchanged or worse than the starting position for the US.
  • Immeasurable amounts of trust in the US is lost, foreign leaders look elsewhere to negotiate and strike trade deals rather than be bullied
  • Foreign citizen sentiment of US lowered, affecting US businesses and political influence on the world.

There is a clear pattern to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff negotiations. Andrew Chang explains four key steps to Trump's playbook and breaks down to what extent they work — and at what cost.

Be sure to thank your local Republican, DOGE and Trump for your inability to visit a park this Memorial Day!

Good job to Ken. Whether it's Luigi's or this fellow's, the hiding of these documents by mainstream media "for the protection of people" only serves to leave room for conspiracies and fake news to fill the gap.

While I consider the two situations differently, this one less justifiable than the UHC incident, I understand the kind of helplessness that leads to this violence. I can only hope the approach to peace in Gaza will be bilateral between Israel and Palestine, fair and humane.

Unfortunately, if America continues to walk the path toward "Me, the Dictator" instead of "We, the People", violent acts like this may become increasingly common.

He was still there in the room when Trump was talking to South Africa's President Ramaphosa. He's trying to keep himself out of the spotlight but he's still there in the wings.

I see it more as a death by a thousand pathological liars and abject idiots.

I betcha they are also regretful of the inconvenience caused by killing World Kitchen Aid workers and destroying a Canadian-made water well. The inconvenience of it.

Trump's lawyers "claiming that no court order was violated because the man wasn’t afraid of deportation."

These are some of the dumbest things I've ever heard from a government attorney. (Insert Homer Simpson 'so far' meme).

Since the server went off of OVH, lemmy.ca has felt super snappy overall. Tonight I'm noticing lagspikes, and the status graph shows it too...

I'll check back in the morning, site's still usable so not an urgent matter. It'd be interesting for me to know what might be happening.

Morning edit: seems like a one off.

I'm planning to start a new Satisfactory world with a number of friends and acquaintances of mine, some from different friend groups.

In a game like Minecraft, the world is limitless and people can set their base up anywhere, obtain resources wherever they please and just trying not to impede on others too much. In Satisfactory I worry a bit about competing over the resources or ideal space, or someone decides to take down another person's hourslong work to make a more efficient factory, etc.

What would be ways that I could fairly share the world with many people? I'd think most of the people would get along and the objective is shared, but I'd want to reduce areas of frustration where possible and would appreciate any advice to that end.

Ihave a unique opportunity to add a node at the Tower LNB ring. However I'm struggling to source a Meshtastic gateway that meets the requirements I'v been given. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Power will be provided over 48v POE ONLY
  2. Remote management is a must, consider both internet provided over ethernet and 4G/LTE as backup (fw updates)
  3. Maximum 5db gain antenna can be used positioned on the LNB ring facing N-NW, must not exceed 1400mm in length
  4. Must be tuned for exactly 915mhz (l'm thinking cavity filter) to help with Rx.
  5. Enclosure and antenna must be pole mounted
  6. Absolutely no wifi 2.4 or 5ghz
  7. 500CND budget 'd like a set it and forget it approach. ls it even worth it?
