this started happening a few years back i remember looking outside of my window and i saw a crow circling my house. at the time my grandpa was very sick and eventually died. but he was still alive then. anyway ever since that day no matter where i go or what time it is if i am outside i see crows flying around me literally following me. usually its a single crow. sometimes a pair. today it was several they just sit there in my line of sight or follow me. as far as i can tell nothing bad ever happens after i see them. they’re just there......

I did a puzzle hunt at Teardown 2025 last night. The whole hunt was crowded themed. This was one of the way markers for clues.

It's fledgling season, so the parents are on high alert. This one had at least two fledglings hopping around in the grass nearby, squawking up a fuss for food.

Although it's those pigeons turf as well. They are a heartbreakingly cute couple, one has no more toes on one foot at all, just a stump, the other one has severely damaged toes on one foot from an old case of stringfoot. Pigeons in this town are in very bad shape.

There is this little crow at Piazetta Savoia in Cagliari who left its nest a bit early two weeks ago. The staff of the surrounding gastronomy fed it and now it is absolutely not scared of people and hangs around there. Doing all kinds of dorky baby crow stuff. Really crazy to see, never seen this before. It made me jump just now, as it nibbled on my sandals as I am writing this.

I passed by here earlier in the morning and was glad to not see it here, so it does seem to have a bit of a life outside of the Piazetta.

I am no crow expert, but I know that it quite often happens that crows leave their nest too early and then keep sitting on the ground. That does not mean the parents don't care for it anymore, but they may still be feeding it. So I would not just pick up a sitting baby crow before observing if the parents are still there for it. It could take a couple hours though.

One of my neighbors keeps a duck in his yard that I hear when taking a walk. This rooftop crow was making a particular call nearby in alteration with the duck (barely audible in this video). I've not heard these short frequent caws from a crow before, so it definitely seems like he's intentionally imitating the duck.
