Guys like devin Hester didn’t even get in on their first ballot. Which got me thinking, and I’m not sure where Justin stands right now, but I would lean first ballot. It’s just you never know with the committee and how they feel.

Curious for everyone’s thoughts on this :)

I was drafting late in the order and ended up with Fields as my QB. Ended up drafting Love as the backup. In my league Darnold, Howell, and Stafford are available above Bagent. Should I be a homer and trade Love for Bagent?

Not that we need any more drama in this season, but since we're playing out in LaLa land this week who would you say would be the most appropriate celeb to show up in a luxury box at SoFi wearing a Bagent jersey and a friendship bracelet? I'm thinking Britney Spears.

In response to this request - https://old.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/17hmejr/this_sub_should_have_a_weekly_chat_thread/

Will schedule this post for every Tuesday after this first one and we'll leave it stickied as much as we can, assuming it is popular.

Say what you will about this team, the culture is definitely not a problem.

I was looking at the Chargers sub and saw that they have this thread. Not only would this give us a place to ask simple questions, but it would also help to cut down on some of the low-effort posts that people are always making here.

I mean look at this:

3 screens in a row, unstoppable.

Maybe he was a secret genius this whole time and just picked the wrong sport.

“It’s like he was put on this planet to play QB in the NFL.”

The folk lore has gone religious.

Posted this on FB this day 9 years ago. How much would we say has changed?

I've waited eight weeks but...Bears...season over. Say what you want about Cutler (and you can say lots) fact is this team just does not have the necessary personnel (esp on defense) to win consistently. The worst part is I'm not optimistic that the young personnel they have (besides Fuller) is going to get considerably better. I do think the effort is there, just doesn't matter much if the talent is lacking. Things (and teams) are never as good (or bad) as they seem, but I honestly don't know where this franchise goes from here. Done.

Football, as we know it will not exist at some point in the near future. It is simply too violent of a game. The likelihood of developing CTE is way too high and is essentially equivalent to getting dementia in your middle ages. Prior to very recent times, a player saying I'm not right coach, I'm not going back in....that was just simply not something a player could do. The team would pump them full of painkillers, slap them on the ass, and say go get em' champ. What we're seeing with Deshaun is perfectly normal and logical human behavior. He doesn't feel 100%, can't be blackballed with a fully guaranteed contract, and the generational wealth guaranteed by the end of his current contract, so no wonder he's choosing not to play.

Virtually everyone who reads this, if we took one NFL carry, it would be the hardest any of us have ever been hit, save for people that have been in significant car accidents. We wouldn't feel right for weeks, maybe even a few months. Human self-preservation coupled with massive contracts that can guarantee generational wealth for star players will result in an NFL where none of the top guys are willing to risk it for the biscuit. The inherent violence in the sport requires linemen to be proud that despite their socks being wet from the piss that ran down their leg, despite having a couple broken fingers, despite playing through a concussion and a bloody damn nose...they did their job, they proved how tough they were, sacrificing their body led to their team winning. Damn it to hell that at the age of 45, his brain will look like an 80 year old dementia patient, damn it to hell that his mobility will mirror that of an elderly person in his middle ages...he was a tough son of a bitch and sacrificing all that helped their team win.

Long story short the young guys making 20M a year don't need to have that mentality and will not have that mentality. They will make business decisions, and it will result in an NFL where guys aren't sacrificing their bodies. The football we know and love requires that sacrifice, and I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm not getting CTE and struggling to get out of bed for all the money in the world. Some things just cost too much.

I still believe they have a lot to prove before they should be able to keep their jobs but I’ll admit, things have been looking better so far all around. I have seen a few people slightly change their minds but what’s everyones thoughts about?

Was wondering if anyone has sat in the owners section seats before. I believe you can enter early but I’m not seeing any info on the tickets. Any information would be appreciated. Bear Down!

Anybody know what he's dealing with?

Seems like he's been out a long time if it was just a cold.

Knowing the bears we'll probably figure out that he had his appendix removed or something.

I keep hearing, “Should Bears trade Jaylon Johnson?” Why should we trade him? What would we truly gain out of it?

Why not see what teams are selling and see if we can pick up a pass rusher or an offense lineman to strengthen our lines.

Why wait till next year?

We need help on the edge and Young is on the market. His durability after his rookie year has been questionable (33/57 games played, 58%) and a valid reason to not want to give up capital for him, but the man is still 24.

What about a trade similar to the Jets’ trade for Rodgers? A high pick if he plays a certain amount of snaps, otherwise a later one?
