Liminal spaces are the subject of an Internet aesthetic portraying empty or abandoned places that appear eerie, forlorn, and often surreal. Liminal spaces are commonly places of transition (pertaining to the concept of liminality) or of nostalgic appeal.

Someone posted a story about this bathhouse's new mirrors (they don't fog up). A commenter posted that the picture is creepy & when I thought about it i realized that they likely thought it was creepy because it's a liminal space, so I decided to post the picture here lol

Just after exiting bus because I realized very late that I accidentally went on the north bus instead of the south bus. Peed at Walgreens then had to go ASAP in an Uber. Pic is facing north. (infosec.pub)
