Telegram for Monkrus? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) by clergywomenpro@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Came across 2 different telegrams for monkrus. His/her site here https://w16.monkrus.ws/ points to "real_monkrus" but the "m0nkrus" has an insane amount of people in it.

t.me/real_monkrus

t.me/m0nkrus

What is the "legit" way to find monkrus? Do they ever use PGP and how can I tell that a new site is also the same user? Both telegrams have different methods of donation, so it feels unlikely they're both real.

I won't blame these torrents, but I've recently gotten a state-actor-level type of malware and I'm double-checking everything that's been into my machine.

Hey guys! So I have a simple dilemma. The computer i use for video/movies is on a vpn. Sometimes I want to move those videos to my nas.

Now I am just using the mulvad program on the local pc (linux). I dont have it installed on my router (and im not sure if I will yet, since with slowdowns and some sites and applications not working on a VPN, I dont really need it network wide at this point)

But my problem is, my nas isn't accessible from the pc, unless I shut off the VPN, which I dont want to do when in the middle of a big download. Also, it would be nice sometimes to download right to my nas so I dont need to move files.

Is there a somewhat easy solution? Im decently savvy but networking still confuses me sometimes.

Most other search engines show https://www.southparkuncensored.com/ after searching for "south park uncensored" or "southparkuncensored", but Bing doesn't, and therefore DuckDuckGo and Qwant neither.

Hello, i've been thinking about using soulseek for the very first time to download some music and such. I had a couple of questions from the c/piracy community.

  1. Do i need to stay logged in on soulseek even if i am or am not sharing stuff? Obviously i can't be online and have my pc powered on 24/7 as i have a life outside the web (and other things aswell). so i hope that's understandable as to why i asked, i was worried i'd get banned if i don't be online like all the time.

  2. Would a vpn work just fine with soulseek even if the vpn has support for port forwarding? There's an obvious reason as to why i'd use one.

  3. Which soulseek client should i use, Nicotine+? or soulseek's actual client (i use Linux Mint, in case y'all were wondering. I might move to debian though!)

That's all i want to ask for now, hopefully these aren't dumb to ask. I'll be waiting for replies (might not reply to all of them so i apologize), thanks!

While alternative app stores operate independently and are required by EU law, Apple is still in a position to exert some control. This became apparent a few weeks ago, when iTorrent users suddenly ran into trouble when installing the app.

Thought this was an interesting story, since it's pretty analagous to the recent Android situation, with third party app stores being enabled to some extent, but the company retaining ultimate censorship power.

I have tried using yt download but am not able to find any option for such a case.

So something like, a tool which allows YouTube login and then pull all the songs/video.

I recently bought a collector edition boxed set of a 1970s martial arts series I love. I can't even play it in VLC, makemkv beta code situation is borked, and handbrake scans all the titles, then says there are none.

I have a local Plex server I wanted to use, no other devices that can play Blu-ray other than an external USB drive I just bought.

Any advice? The Linux box is on 22.04.

This community usually discusses consumer rights, but nobody is discussing this initiative. Is it maybe cuz Lemmy's majority ain't American?

so I thought it wouldn't be available because it needs connection to MS servers I think? anyway, I was looking at the sites on the megathread and MS flight simulator is available on several websites, like fitgirl repacks, steamrip etc (I assume that's the 2020 version but there is a 2024 one as well on gamebounty). so now I'm actually curious, has anyone tried it? does it work well?

Quasarr Hostnames (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by obelous@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

So I'm trying to setup Quasarr (direct downloader for sonarr+radarr) but I'm not sure what hostnames to use.

I added some from the suggested pastebin but most of them serve German content and I haven't heard of any of these websites (new to DDL)

Can anyone help me setup some good English sources? Or at least tell me what the rest of the abbreviations mean?

Paywalls have become part and parcel of the modern Web it seems. And despite helpful extensions like BPC, there are always many sites where one is constrained to compromise. Many sites also keep stuff like newsletters for subscribers only.

In this specific example, The Verge has launched two new variants and both are behind a paywall. Whilst the site itself works with BPC, is there a way to access the newsletters?

Of course, you might ask why I don't pay. It's because it's exceptionally hard. Ironically for a tech company, Verge took the nonsensical step of NOT having regional specific pricing. So, they are currently more expensive than YouTube, Play Pass and local newspaper subscription combined in my country.

Hello, what hosting service or pastebin service would you use to host a list of DDL link for movies and tv shows (and avoid DMCA)? I was planning to use rentry but there are a lot of filled take down requests in lumen database. I'd spend as less as possibile, my goal is to host a very simple html page with a list of links, similar to ElAmigos webpage, nothing more. I'd really prefer to use free tools but it seems not feasible.

Do you have any suggestion or experience?

The world runs on standards that define everything. Unfortunately these standards are proprietary which is highly inconvenient.

Where would one obtain standards namely international standards (ISO) and Australian standards (AS). Some can be found on the internet archive but a majority cannot. I believe some libraries let you download some version with all sorts of drm but that's not something I want to deal with.

How hard can it be to get a pdf that defined how literally everything in the world works.

EDIT: I have checked Library Genesis it has some but not all.

Is it really sketchy if you torrent a file that by default it is an unpacked folder? (rather than just being a zipped folder)? I'm not sure if I should be concerned if it is able to run anything or gather data since it was unzipped by default. It contained a monkrus.info file that seemed to gather all the data for some reason.. (I think)

Thank you.
