I stopped reading the LN after I ended the fourth volume (I still purchased the fifth at the time in case I changed my mind). The concept is good, the execution... Let's say the first couple of volumes had more care put into them.
The main issue with the story is the constant (and I mean, there's at least one per page) citation of some obscure reference just for the sake of it. Not only it is annoying, it just doesn't add anything to the story. In the fourth volume I remember it took something like seven pages for the two protagonists to discuss on a reference... ๐
That's a bit disappointing. Hopefully they streamline it for the manga if they get that far.
