Former POW gets executed in a way even medieval Europe shunned by Russia

Why would Ukraine do this?

Big brain moment there bud. Imagine you're the Ukrainian POW that didn't get released in case Russia killed the POW Ukraine sent them back.

Reality is they knew the context and simply didn't care
