Just reading up on these as the conservatives seem pretty right wing especially during this last election. Then I read the PPC description, they seem pretty similar at a glance. Did they have further distinction before and just recently some of the actors of the Conservatives become pushing towards the PPC ideals?

The discussion in this thread is kinda shallow and weak. There's a fair amount of overlap especially as the Conservatives have shifted further to try to reclaim some of their losses to the PPC, but you should be comparing their platforms not just taking peoples' word.

There are indeed nuances, no surprise this community considers them the same, since they overlap in some "dealbreaker" ways for the average person here, but know your enemy...

This is like saying the NDP and Greens are the same, and arguably they're closer than the PPC and Conservatives depending how you look.
