It is impossible for it to be hl3. It's hl 2.9 at best.

HL 2.̅9̅ doesn't have the same ring to it, but it equals 3.
Agreed. It'll be another game in the HL universe but I find it unlikely that Valve will call it HL3, even if it continues where Episode 2 left off.
Whatever it is, I hope it's a VR exclusive. HL: Alyx was a great prequel and I want more of that...except on a larger scale and with the same walking speed as HL2 (+sprint), instead of that 2MPH baby crawl they made you do in Alyx.
