Does this matrix plugin support federation between github and gitlab? (github.com)

It allows adding github and gitlab to the bridge, but I don't get what it does. Anybody know?

It looks like it is for sending messages in a matrix room whenever there is an event from a connected service. For github/gitlab that would be events like when a branch is merged or a new issue is created.
