<Isekai Tensei: Recruited to Another World Volume 10> - Another series that fell off quality-wise. There has been a shift towards something like "Marvel MCU Banter" but if feels extremely forced and overused. In this volume, there is about 90% of just this. The group of characters is trying to be funny but isn't. And it's running in circles, repeating the same supposedly funny joke again and again. 5/10

<Secrets of the Silent Witch, Vol. 1> - I needed to know why Nero is a cool guy, so I had to pick up the series. Little Magical Rainman's story is structured like a mystery story and had me guessing the culprit the entire time. It's the teacher. No, it's the haughty, evil queen bee. Or maybe that one student council secretary... and so on. It got a bit more predictable towards the en,d so there was no big reveal "NO WAY!?!" moment, but still very entertaining. 6/10 (score is for all volumes I read this week combined.)

Secrets of the Silent Witch, Vol. 2 - I expected the series to follow a different format with Monica doing different things every volume, so I was surprised to see her still in the school setting. But after that initial confusion, I have now become wise in the ways of the Matsuri Isora. And as proof of this, I have identified the ultimate baddie of this volume from the very beginning. I am also beginning to see why Nero is so cool.

Secrets of the Silent Witch, Vol. 3 - I'm not a fan of bullying stories, and half of this volume is exactly that. And I really don't think the series needed that forced pity trope to stand on its own. It can perfectly function without trying to make the reader feel extra sorry for MC. And then the bully just inexplicably turns 180 after an event and is now not a bully anymore, like a switch. I hated that especially. In the end, it was used as a point of character development so I see why the author might have pushed this so hard, but I still disliked reading it. Anyway, at least the second half was entertaining.

Nero is a cool guy

Like I wrote before, I have been reading the manga rather than the LN (I am sure you are much farther in the story that I am), but he is mostly a self-proclaimed cool guy:

Sometimes though, he can genuinely be pretty cool:

In any case, Nero is Nero and he isn't about to take shit from anybody. I like his kind of tough love relationship with Monica:

I'm almost through volume 4 now, and sadly, him asking for praise is absent in the later volumes. Would have been a funny running gag. But there was a moment when he got angry and showed his claws, which was in all honesty "cool". "Wise man fear the anger of a gentle ~~man~~ cat" and all that.
