It's not Cannabis, although same family (Cannabaceae), it's Hops! Cascade variety. Planted 5 rhizomes a couple weeks ago. (infosec.pub)

I love the smell of hops at the height of summer.

I grew up in a farming town that grew a lot of them and sometimes you could smell almost nothing else on a warm summer breeze.

I live in the Hallertau. Late summer, early autumn when the harvest starts the whole valley smells of it. Love it.
