Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Jail them all. Yes, I say ALL. Did I stutter?

I suppose if being against genocide makes me antisemitic, wanting to release the Epstein files probably makes me a child predator!

[–] zigmus64@lemmy.world 40 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Yup… no loyalty.

Name in Epstein Files? Straight to jail.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 37 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

No. They get a trial, THEN bury the fuckers under the prison.

[–] AdamEatsAss@lemmy.world 21 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The trial is important. Being on a list isn't a crime. Being photographed with or knowing someone isn't a crime. Trafficking and sexual abusing children is. I would assume there are people who knew Epstein and are on the list but were/are not traffickers/abusers. It's up to the justice department to prove who was a criminal. I suspect the files weren't released before because there is insufficient evidence. Now they're not released because certain people are worried they might be on the list.

Epstein's book with contact info for friends and acquaintances was released years ago. We already have that. That sparked a bunch of stuff when it came out.

All the hubbub now has nothing to do with innocent people, it is specifically about his client list. AKA the guilty ones he helped. Not just the people he knew.

Shroedinger's Epstein List. It simultaneously was on the AG's desk for review a little while back and also never existed.

Completely agree. Was just trying to be funny. Habeas corpus is a cornerstone of our civilization.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And like, unironically, unsarcastically. Completely seriously. Straight to jail. No bullshit.

[–] zigmus64@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Na… due process is important.

Anti-pedophilia is antisemitism

/s, but also Rabbi Kaye subbed at my congregation shortly before appearing on To Catch a Predator, so it's a soft "/s," but only anecdotally.

Anti-pedophilia is antisemitism

This kind of reminds me of how every several years it seems like a group of pedo's tries to portray themselves as an oppressed minority, and try to "join" LGBT+ spaces. Hard to say how much was genuine vs anti-lgbt astroturfing. I wonder if they will pop up again in all this.

I feel like I remember a college dorm mate telling me about NAMBLA and Butterfly Kisses? The fact that people were so nonchalant to have public meetings like that was horrifying. And he was so matter-of-fact about all of it. I should have caught on sooner just how fucked up he was...

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I know about NAMBLA from South Park, (National American Marlin Brando Lookalike Association) but do I want to know what Butterfly Kisses is?

On one hand I feel like I should, on the other, ignorance may be blissful and I have no desire to search it.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

i think it's a song about parenthood by Bob Carlisle

That makes my curiosity worse, but I'm anticipating it being more horrifying.

They've done all sorts of stuff. Like there was the whole ebinopholoa or whatever where they argued, until you just couldn't stomach it anymore, that post-pubescent children are ok

[–] teamevil@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That guy was a family friend of my college gf. I remember the family freaking out when the show aired

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I only knew him for maybe a couple of months? He was SUPER aggressive with the children at the synagogue, so we all kinda avoided him.

[–] womjunru@lemmy.cafe 4 points 4 days ago

Jail? Nah. Line them all up and…
