It's not purely last names, though. The Duke of Buckingham's last name was Villiers but he was commonly called "Buckingham". AOC most commonly goes by "AOC" so the "a" works.

Right, I think the of system kinda makes you forget these people have real names too. I certainly often do

Anyway apparently the word comes from the hebrew kaballah which is sad
