Dunking on Liberals from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.

Dems keep working with trump to approve his picks, but what they won't accept is that if you sit down at a table with nazis, the only thing that's changed is the number of nazis at the table. @_cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com

what happens when they are equal distance from you across various dimensions.

My view is picking which is the least dangerous and negatively impacting to the greater good makes a rational argument.

Standing on the sidelines doesn't really do anything except make you feel as though you have a voice.

I've just taken the approach of supporting who's the least insane to keep life livable and making the cases for alternative candidates between.

Most American alternative options are just so fucking quiet between elections that when one comes around they fall into the "wtf is that?" bucket.

Only one that's had a snowballs chance in hell that I remember was Ross Perot in the 90s.

thats great for you. others are not willing to do so. learn to live with and adjust to this fact. you'll be happier and you'll get better candidates.

if the democratic party didnt want trump, they shouldn't have supported a genocide and abandoned working class/minority groups. you are more than welcome to continue supporting them despite those facts, but also accept others are not.

edit: and in the future if your worried about losing because people are saying 'we will not vote for this' accept this fact and push your reps to fall in line trust me that takes less effort.

We keep doing what we've always done and expect different outcomes.

What's that called again?

correct your position is insanity. why you think other people need to adjust to your ideals vs you accepting that other people have differing views is beyond me and quite frankly not worth exploring. enjoy the next 4 years you've earned them.

In what world is trump the same distance away from you then kamala

[–] jatone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

who said anything about trump or kamala? I certainly didnt. the point was cattypat reasoning was shit on a number of dimensions.

the idea that people will take the time to show up for a candidate who is absolutely abhorrent to them on any dimension just because someone else thinks the other options are worse is asinine and isnt how people behave.

Say you have two people both whom you find disgusting, which do you have dinner with? answer: neither. fuck em both.

and that my friend is how people vote. a politician's job (or a political party) is to make sure they are not abhorrent to the most people. kamala and the DNC has failed at this, repeatedly, for decades, with their base. hence the absolute collapse in support over a genocide and economic abandonment of the middle class. Its why mandami is eating the DNC's lunch in NYC.
