If anyone's feeling pretty hopeless about finding this out for the first time, I recommend this documentary about the cartoon frog's creator suing Alex Jones and trying to take back his ownership over Pepe from the white power weirdos. It's very uplifting and the artist is a pretty likable guy.

Probably had to do with the country copyright laws :/ I had personal videos blocked because they used music that in over country was free to use and in others wasn’t… or maybe he hates you in particular 🤷‍♀️

Oh, thanks for sharing this experience, because that makes totally sense to me. The error message is kind of misleading and gave me the impression the blocking was on purpose.

Documentary guy is a good guy after all.

Fuck Youtube and all the music industry.

Check if any invidious instance can play it, or NewPipe/PipePipe on android

Thank you my friend, what a good suggestion. Next thing would be to just use archive.org. However, for this I would need some help.

If you're on desktop/laptop, FreeTube works pretty well too (has invidious functionality built in)

Dang I didn't know users did that on YouTube. I guess I can't say I blame you, it's a shitty thing to do

They don’t. It’s regional restriction.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh. That is what I used to assume. Was Zr0 just messing with me?

[–] Confused_Emus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

No, Zr0 made an uninformed assumption as well.
