Yeah, Chris Hedges never fails to produce quality material, and he has the experience to back up what he says.
You can also be sure whoever downvoted my post didn't read the piece, as it has nothing do with with being or not being Antifa, but is in fact about the Trump fascist regime using it as an excuse to persecute dissenters - as you correctly pointed out.
Being posted on Beehaw, do the downvotes even federate? Because Beehaw has downvoting disabled.
I'm not sure. Also, downvotes don't really matter on Lemmy / Piefed. And I don't care if I'm downvoted anyway 🙂
I just find it curious that anybody would downvote a post to an article that warns about the weaponization of a term to suppress dissent. The only explanation I have is, those who downvoted saw the title "We are all antifa" and immediately voted it down because they're not antifa - completely missing the point of the article because they haven't read past the title.
