Isn't tiktok a chinese asset? And hasn't china famously refused to dance to Trump's discordant tune?

Trump is forcing them to sell their American operations to American owners or be blocked from operating in the US.

Thankyou. I'm right now watching Internet Today's coverage of it, which also confirmed it. There's also this interesting snippet from the CNBC article they quote from:

"No representatives from ByteDance were present at the signing, and the company hasn’t acknowledged that a transaction is taking place. No purchase price was mentioned, and there’s no indication that the Chinese government has made changes to laws that would be necessary for a deal to take place."
