So, I posted about this a bit back, but there have been some odd developments that may provide context and clues for anyone to assist in finding a solution.
So, for some reason, I can no longer save images to galleries (doesn't matter what generator I use either). While sure, I could always just download them, Perchance seems to learn what you want better based on your saved and thumbed up images. So, by not being able to do that, every time I use it-- and even every 30 min - 1 hr when it seems to refresh or something-- it starts back at square one, having forgotten all of the signals towards what I'm looking for from prior images and making the same obvious mistakes it seemed to have learned to avoid just moments prior.
However, every now and then, I can create a new gallery and images will save to the gallery for a few hours. But, inevitably, it will stop saving new images.
Keep in mind, I'm making sure to include the adult age of the models in the images and other elements to prevent triggering certain filters. Now, if I was simply no longer able to ever save images to galleries, that would be one thing. But the fact that I can occasionally start new galleries only for it to eventually lose the ability to save more images makes me wonder what else might be going on. A periodic loss of the ability to save images seems odd.
Not sure if there is anyone who knows what's going on or how to assist. And, I acknowledge I may just be speaking gibberish as I'm more trying to sus it out and intuit based on observation as opposed to actually understand how it works.
Thank you for the reply. This definitely gives me some sort of direction to begin considerations in terms of what might be going on.
Regarding the second possibility (given the first doesn't apply due to the ubiquity of it), I never post my images to the public gallery. I'll acknowledge that I am prompting for explicit content based on erp between me and a couple other people. As such, I don't make it public and am making it specifically to share with my roleplay partners. I'm unsure if there is still a way for the images to be seen by others for them to be downvoted (the gallery names are specific enough that I would find it exceedingly hard to believe anyone could just guess the names-- not without knowing the names of the rp characters involved lol).
As far as the third one is concerned, the content I prompt isn't outside of the realms of what I do see in the public gallery. Heck, half the time, I use the prompt from a public image I like as my base to build from. Moreover, I have included elements that could be inappropriate in the negative prompt to try to ensure that it doesn't appear-- because I don't want that either lol. That said, I learned that the generator can sometimes confuse the negative prompt with the positive prompt(?) and have since stopped that practice for a while.
At this point, it's less about the inability to save the images. I could just download them onto my hard drive. It's more about the fact that the generator seems to learn what kind of images to generate for a given prompt based on the images I save and/or upvote. I don't know if that is true, it's more anecdotal observation. However, there have been strong signals to support this observation.
So, without the ability to save and/or upvote images, the generator will temporarily learn the aspects of images I'm trying to get only to then "forget" those signals after some time (usually within an hour). However, before the middle of August or so, I had a number of personal galleries with enough saved and personally upvoted images that a generator could be relied upon to consistently generate the type of image I was looking for.
It's worth noting that old galleries have also been wiped clean or hidden. Many of which were filled prior to this event, so I'm not sure why previously held galleries would be wiped or hidden. And even when a gallery will temporarily accept saved images, it will wipe or hide them after a few weeks and no longer show anything.
Without the ability to send signals to the generator that it maintains, it makes using Perchance more trouble that it's worth. However, I really like it in concept and, prior to Aug 8, had excellent results. And, I'm not complaining about the update. Not ideal, sure, but I am sympathetic to the devs, so don't begrudge them. But it's getting to a point where the time and effort to train the gen to create the images I'm trying to get it to (which, to be clear, while explicit, are not outside of the norm or involving anything particularly extreme or taboo) feels fruitless.
Regardless, I appreciate your response and any other observations or notes you may will be appreciated as well. Thank you
While the underlying image models do learn. The image generation that Perchance uses are continuously updated and trained on vast datasets by it's creator. This is why users may notice a difference in the quality of the generated images over time. For example, a model may be updated to better interpret a user's intent or to generate more diverse imagery. User interaction doesn't train the model. The tool does not learn from the prompts nor from the upvotes you personally enter. Providing feedback or generating many similar images does not cause the model to adapt specifically for you. The improvements you see are from broader model updates rolled out to all users. The user learns, which improves results. For a user, the "learning" process is about refining their prompting techniques to achieve the desired result.
with what you have said in response to point 2. just test it, open edit on the image gen find the line that says hideIfScoreIsBelow and make the number witch will likely be -1 change this to something like -15 and then hit reload (not refresh) check the gallery you post stuff to, swap it to recent / none /also want to point out cause i just thought about it. If you only do perchance on private browsing there is a feature which hides nsfw images until the generate button is pressed X amount of times, i cant recall the amount. do all of that see if they show, if they do not enter into admin mode. click the cog for the gallery and type the word "admin" press enter. if the images appear and they have a red box around them this means they have been banned or hidden by the admin of that page.
edit some words
Okay, so changing the score doesn't impact the retention of the images. And, the next day, the entire gallery disappeared. Also, if I hit refresh too many times, the gallery simply fades into the aether. I have also tried this with every browser configuration I can think of, and nothing has altered it. Likewise, admin mode showed no red boxes.
This is very strange behavior.
I have never lost ANY galleries or images - I can even access my old galleries from the previous t2i model. I've never had any problems saving images to any galleries. I switch between galleries frequently.
NOTE: The galleries ARE specific to the saved generator, so if you rename the gen, it WILL start new/clean galleries even if you use the same gallery name. By the same token, you should be able to access old galleries if you rename the gen back to the old save name, and then access the old gallery name.
ALL of my galleries are private - and nothing is ever voted on.
I have NOT noticed the image generation getting any better based on previous prompts/saved images (I wish it did!!!).
