Fucking stupid.

If Newsome had balls he'd stop funding the federal government instead.

Can always count on neoliberals punching down and never up...

The question is how do you stop funding the feds when the collection mechanisms are outside state control

Easily...

Cali has over 4 trillion GDP.

Except for USA and China, that's where most countries are.

Cali can announce:

"Effective immediately no person or business in Cali is required to pay federal taxes".

Like, you're stuck thinking that the only way to beat the system is thru the system. Which is very very ignorant and incredibly dangerous for society right now...

If that's your personal opinion, the I'm not going to waste any time talking you out of it

But just so you don't have any plausible deniability: saying what you just said helps the fascists, so can you at least stop fucking talking since you're accomplishing the opposite of what a rational and decent person would want?

Or was that your intent and you're going to keep pretending that you don't know you're carrying water in a fucking Nazi's bucket by acting like we need to be bound by rules and procedures when the literal Nazis obviously aren't.

Edit:

There's almost 40 million Californian citizens, with that 4 trillion dollar GDP behind them...

A class action lawsuit against the federal government would absolutely be justification to withhold federal taxes.

Accounting is fucking easy, they just have to change where that money is sent.

Federal taxes aren't even due till April, they don't need to be partially paid every pay period. And trump would be fucked if it stopped especially during a shutdown.

None of this shit is complicated or hard to think of

We can't only try things that are 99.99% likely to work, we need to try fucking everything simultaneously

Does Cali control payment systems? What stops the US federal government from ordering a bank to take money directly off bank accounts?

California can't exempt individuals or companies from Federal taxes by just "declaring" it. Most of those taxes get sent directly to the IRS, never passing through the state's coffers. And not paying them would set people up for federal penalties including prison.
