A community dedicated to the universe of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop setting in the far, distant future.

This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.

Rules

  1. Keep it civil.
  2. No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
  3. Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
  4. No contemporary politics, no political debates. This is a space to enjoy the hobby and get away from the doomscrolling.

Let’s drum up a discussion about… MEGA CAMPAIGNS!

Like many, my small group wants to do something legendary. Something we’ll be talking about together in our gamer’s nursing home (it’ll be a thing!).

The question is, of course, how? How do we combine the various games in the 40K universe and meld them into one grand narrative to rule all?

We can take the top down approach and start with Battlefleet Gothic. Secure the sector, launch your armies planetside into a game of Epic, then settle the final battle in a 40K match. But that’s missing something…

I propose starting with Kill Team. Infiltrate, get the secret plans/weapon/whatever, transmit them to the fleet in orbit, then go from there.

Thoughts? What rules would you use to manage the campaign? (I’m thinking on looking at one of the battletech supplements.)

I hate how the Titans weapons are just firing/flashlighting randomly into the air away from anything and everything. Get your head in the game princeps!!
