Now again about this error at work today…
Ever be about to fall asleep, but then a sharp sound happens and you perceive a flash of light? Like a touch of synesthesia, sometimes a simple creak of the floorboards sends a bolting flash across my mind.
It's like a light quickly flickered on and off, or lightning in the distance,. It stops me from falling asleep at that exact moment, but thankfully it doesn't keep me up for long. I figure it's a reaction that kept our ancestors safe once upon a time, but for now it's just an interesting phenomenon.

i haven't had the visual part, but every now and then i get the sound part and it pisses me off every time, because when it happens i'm in that malleable almost-asleep stage so not only does it startle me awake but it also makes me have to lie there for like 20 seconds explaining to myself that no that wasn't a real sound because if it was then the other people near me would have heard it and this thing has happened multiple times before come the fuck on
