Perchance - Create a Random Text Generator
⚄︎ Perchance
This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.
Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)
This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.
See this post for the Complete Guide to Posting Here on the Community!

3. Be thankful to those who try to help you.
- If you ask a question and someone has made a effort to help you out, please remember to be thankful! Even if they don't manage to help you solve your problem - remember that they're spending time out of their day to try to help a stranger :)
4. Only post about stuff related to perchance.
- Please only post about perchance related stuff like generators on it, bugs, and the site.
5. Refrain from requesting Prompts for the AI Tools.
- We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (
text-to-image-plugin
andai-text-plugin
) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?" - See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
- You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
- We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.
6. Search through the Community Before Posting.
- Please Search through the Community Posts here (and on Reddit) before posting to see if what you will post has similar post/already been posted.

Is nutty behavior seeing a 16 year old on a chat forum and reacting that he should be banned.
Like... what you do is completely crazy behavior.
I'm stopping you in your tracks here bud. Time-out. Is what I wanna say.
If only you had finished your education properly, you did not need to rely on AIs for feeding you basic sentences.
Tell you what ; If ganking up on strangers online like this is what happens in perchance chats I'm happy the 16 year olds stay clear of it.
Have your internet points. Just keep whatever strange community you have in this chat away from me.
im an innocent little law abiding citizen so pretend i didnt say anything but... secretly I'm on your side in this type of debate. I personally am a protector of people instead of call the cops on them. If a person wants to be in a place and isnt hurting anyone, idc what their age, gender, nationality is. I will help them unless they are a bad person. But also if the neighbor was an immigrant, I would probably protect them instead of call ICE on them. Treat others how you want to be treated. Everyone's different I guess.
Also tho, pretend i didnt say anything because publically saying i would break rules would be stupid. you must have hallucinated that i seemed to say it.
some people are safe places for others. some arent
No way this guy says "If a person wants to be in a place and isnt hurting anyone, idc what their age, gender, nationality is. I will help them unless they are a bad person". There you have it folks, coming from a headoverheels mod himself.
looking at this person's profile, literally 1 out of all of their 23 posts is not aggressive and hateful.
I don't know why you took it personally but the day you become a parent, you'll regret calling me out this day.
i help people. you hurt people. what can i say? people are just born different i guess 🤷🏼♀️
I don’t know why you’d want to help a minor stay in an 18+ channel; removing them won’t hurt them at all. Is your idea of being a ‘protector of people’ really about defending minors’ right to be in 18+ spaces?
tho in some situations yes. Even here on Lemmy I have allowed ppl below the age requirements to interact without turning them in because I viewed it as a healthy learning experience for them. Every individual is different and every situation is different. So I would not answer your question with a blanket yes or no. But, as stated, I'm generally trustable and a safe place. It's my personality type. I don't really turn people in for things unless someone is being preyed on.
that's not really what it's about :) i was more stating my personality type and that it is also automatically triggered to be on the side of the people in cases of 'government regulation vs people'.
Basically, RandomPerchanceUser looked at you all in disgust and felt alone and I said "no, i empathize and inherently am like that too."
im not really an expert on this specific situation, so my response isnt more complex than that nor pushing any agenda. im more a learner and would like knowledge than feel im pushing a specific outcome here. if u look at my response again you can see its all about showing my personality type and that it is aligned with RandomPerchanceUser and thus they arent alone.
"some people are safe places for others. some aren't" that's the point, isn't it? It's not about ratting someone out, it's to protect minors. So you comparing it to "calling the cops/ICE" doesn't fit. Fact is, there are ppl in this world that aren't nice at all. And I'm very sorry, but a minor that openly admits being under 18 in an 18+ channel is obviously not smart enough/too naive to deal with such things and needs that kind of protection.
good point. yes ive seen a kid try to trap a pedo and be messed up by simply being too naive. tho simultaneously, i thank my experiences as a kid in all sorts of obscure chatrooms for teaching me internet savvyness and fluency. i learned before 10years old to never give my address or personal information. i've seen both types.
i also agree stating they are under 18 is a show they are in the naive group and, in that case, resulting restriction is actually a good lesson for them, whether to improve their internet savvyness or protect them.
It's called an 18+ channel for a reason bud. Didn't know some people were so okay with letting minors interact in 18+ channels.
Tell me you're minor without telling me you're minor...
