so I've got some pairs of hiking sandals and was thinking of wearing them to the beach because I walk on rough ground and also walk on and jump across rocks

should I be wearing sock type things to keep sand out?

No because sand is nature's glitter and it will still get inside the socks. It'll be easier when you get home to brush your feet and sandals clean.

What about thigh-high rubber socks?

No sand but the smell would be something else.

Miss Seagoon gave me this awesome hack of using talcum powder to get sand off skin
