My biggest complaint is how much shit they make a mild pain in the ass to do just to push people to pay them the exorbitant subscription rate for Premium.
I understand they need funding, and I would gladly pay for the service if it were a reasonable cost. Like a couple dollars a month or something.
But $9/month or $90/year for faster and more convenient downloads? Fuck right off. Nebula costs less than that and they’re serving, hosting, and sometimes producing video.
Not only that, Mod Organizer is way better for massive custom mod lists, and it already works on Linux. The only thing that Vortex has going for it is collections support
I can’t help but feel like they’d make more money if they charged like $20 annually. I’d have signed up years ago just to support them. But considering that…
…that leaves like one or two games a year that would meaningfully benefit from what they’re offering, which makes it hard to justify spending so much. Plus, intentionally degrading the free service in ways that don’t save them money doesn’t entice me to pay for premium so much as make me resent it. So they’ve made $0 from me.
Shit, that much? I'm glad I bought a lifetime subscription a while back
