Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

That's an interesting take. I would have thought that reddit trended left previously and just shifted further left over time.
I am seeing open racism more than ever on reddit.
It probably has something to do with the type of crowd that reddit promotes. More controversial takes probably get boosted more because they draw more eyes for more time. They're trying to copy Meta.
Oh yea, I see a lot of anti-Muslim anti-Indian sentiments when it comes to immigration. I also saw anti-Chinese sentinments, as in actual Sinophobia, and not merely just anti-CCP/anti-PRC, and as someone who's ethnic Chinese, I feel very uncomfortable with reddit.
People are so easily swayed by hate that's marketed towards them.
Anti-Indian has been such a recent phenomenon. Indians were a model minority only a few years ago. Lol. "Look at them! Why can't you be like them!"
And don't you dare compliment any chinese military gear on defence subreddits.
Even with muslims - It's been recent, more in the past 30 years than ever before.
Fucking losers. Dunk on others to feel better about their own pathetic lives.
coincides with the recent tariffs, and h1b visa issues, no doubt. which is likely being pushed by palintir, Israeli and russia.
its alot things being called "woke", whataboutism,,,etc. the bots trying to disguise it as a both sides issue mos tof the time.
there is still some on the left, but it seems like its just for appearances by reddit, they allow enough to look fair, while they allow right wing propaganda to astroturf the comments of any subs to hell.
