Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

Feed pigeons. I am not an old lady, although I sometimes feel like it :' )
Being a friend to pigeons is awesome. They’re the cutest, chillest lil birds and there’s something magical about that bond with them. Ignore the haters! 🐦
They are truly great. It's the sweetest thing when they start cooing and develop some (albeit food-based) trust to come a little closer to you :3
In case anyone who is reading this want's to start feeding pigeons or ducks, please don't use bread since it can cause health issues in birds. Use bird food or frozen (but thawed) peas instead and conduct your own research.
Seeds and nuts, as well as some dry doggy kibble is surprisingly good for our dinosaur friends. At least corvids and pigeons. They'll even start bringing you gifts. I currently have a murder that has been trained that dollars are very appreciated by me. I do have to dry them out since they put them all into the dog water bowl......
They are an abandoned species. We made them just like dogs, and then abandoned them in the mid 1800s because of a sickness scare that had more to do with fleas than pigeons. We wrote into their instincts to ask us for food, and then just tossed them aside.
I want to vandalize every single sign I see that says that "feeding the pigeons is littering and carrys a $250 fine."
Feed the bird, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag,
Always makes me misty
