Van Gogh's version of Hiroshige's famous work, Sudden Shower over Shin-Ōhashi Bridge and Atake:

Some of Hiroshige's most popular prints were produced in the tens of thousands at a low individual cost and due to the opening up of Japan after 1853 were popular both in Japan and Europe where they had a huge influence on the future Impressionist artists. --WP

Also, I *seem* to recall that there were some other very similar views like this by other Japanese print-makers. Part of a series, or tribute series, maybe.

Not sure if it was actually Hiroshige's piece that kicked that off, or whether it was inspired by an earlier scene...

Yes that I remember too. Why do I feel like I made a post about it too lol. Will have to check. Can't remember off the top of my head
