Becoming a dad has made me cry sooooooo much more during stories of any kind. I made the mistake of reading The end of the world running club and was pretty miserable the whole time. I also started The Road and had to put it down.
You probably made it further in The Road than I did. Shit, I could barely finish red dead redemption for similar reasons.
I made it to the gas station and the first flashback and noped the fuck out. The weight I feel from the huge backslide it seems like the world is taking is enough in real life, I don't need or want my fiction reinforcing that.
